Why go electric?
No Gas!
Let’s face it, one of the best reasons to switch to an electric vehicle is never having to go to a gas station again! The secret to happy EV ownership is to install a 240v outlet in your garage, plug in at night and you’re good to go the next morning. While the range of EV’s vary, you can expect to pay about ¼ of what you did on gas to power your electric vehicle.
Safety
With the elimination of a gas motor and transmission, electric vehicle manufacturers were given a “blank slate” when it comes to designing their EV’s. This has lead to some of the most innovative designs in automotive history as well as some of the safest vehicles on the roads. Tesla, for example, has created the “Giga Press” which injects molten aluminum into casting molds that eventually form the frame using 2-3 pieces versus a standard gasoline car frame that uses 70 pieces or more!

In addition to technologies like the one above, many of the current EV manufacturers use the “skateboard” design for the floor of the car which not only houses the batteries, but also serves as a rigid frame. Another benefit of this design is that it keeps the center of gravity low giving these vehicles some of the lowest rollover rates ever recorded by the NHTSA.
Maintenance
With fewer moving parts, EV owners can expect to save on average $400/year in maintenance costs.
Environmental Impact
The last good reason for switching to an EV, is the reason we started Mother Earth Motors in the first place, decreasing our environmental impact! Electric vehicles produce ZERO emissions and if you couple switching to an EV with adding solar to your home, you can sleep better knowing that you are not contributing to the climate crisis!
